What are the principles and precautions of international transport packaging?

2023-04-11 13:00

1) Suitable for transportation

This is the basic requirement for shipping packaging (also called outer packaging, as opposed to commodity packaging/inner packaging/sales packaging). Transportation packaging must be strong, shock resistant, shock resistant, and take into account the functions of moisture-proof, anti-theft, and anti-loss.

2) Easy to load and unload

Good packaging, easy handling, easy loading and unloading, conducive to improving work efficiency, and can avoid "rough loading and unloading" may bring damage and destruction to the goods. For example: pay attention to the weight and size of each package, too heavy or too large will lead to inconvenient handling and loading and unloading; Irregular shape is not conducive to neat, easy to lead to unnecessary deformation, damage. If it is pallet goods or large goods must use forklift or crane to load and unload, handling, must be convenient for mechanical operation, such as the necessary jack or lifting hole or ring.

3) Moderate and reasonable packaging

According to the actual situation of the goods (weight, size, shape, volume, etc.), select appropriate size of packing cases, cardboard, packing filler, sealing method (whether packing tape is wrapped) and reinforcement method. Be sure to avoid the packing case is too large, resulting in too much internal space, which is very easy to cause damage to the packaging and goods. Of course, should not be excessive packaging, resulting in unnecessary waste of packaging materials.

4) Protect products, moisture-proof and anti-theft

Protection of products is the minimum requirements of packaging, other requirements (such as suitable for transportation, easy loading and unloading, beautiful and generous, etc.) are in the premise of protecting products, only meaningful. For high value but small volume products, especially pay attention to moisture-proof and anti-theft function. For example, the outer package is affixed with an anti-theft seal, so that as long as the seal is intact, it shows that the products inside are not lost.

5) The packaging is integrated with the goods

The outer package should be integrated with the inner protective materials, buffers and the product itself. When an outer package contains multiple small inner packages, it is necessary to pay attention to the neat and good spacing between the contents or between the outer package and the contents. When there is a gap, it should be filled with buffers or protective materials to avoid undue collision, friction or extrusion due to the gap.

6) Note the orientation of the goods

If the goods cannot be placed side up or upside down, they must be clearly marked on the outer package, with "up" and other relevant marks on all four sides. During handling, loading, unloading, storage, and transportation, the goods must be handled and disposed of in strict accordance with the arrow marks on the outer package.

7) Center of gravity balance

The center of gravity of the package should be located in the center position, and the weight distribution should be balanced as far as possible. If the center of gravity cannot be kept near the center due to the problems of the item itself, it is best to indicate which side is heavy.
